Comprehensive Landscape Analysis

Our site assessment and comprehensive landscape analysis services can help you problem solve and provide you with a clear plan for your property.

The site assessment is a straightforward site visit & consultation, while our comprehensive landscape analysis includes a site visit + a detailed written report that will serve as a compass to guide the ecological transformation of your property—whether you do it yourself or we do it for you. The report includes plant recommendations, invasive species management strategies and other ecological landscaping best practices. We also provide plant sources, site preparation instructions, design basics and maintenance tips. This service is great if…

Invasive Species Removal & Management

Invasive plants are uninvited guests that can quickly ruin a good party. If left unchecked, invasives can take over your landscape and spread to local parks and preserves, blocking trails, obscuring views and outcompeting the native plants our pollinators need to survive.

We help landowners identify and eradicate invasive plants following the best management practices and control methods used by ecological restoration professionals.

Note: our invasive species management services are not available for large trees, aquatic ecosystems and large-scale agriculture and woodland properties.

Education and Professional Speaking Engagements

Change starts with education! At ONC, we offer engaging, science-based educational programs and professional speaking services designed to inspire ecological action. We present for schools, universities, HOAs, garden clubs, environmental events, plant nurseries, and community organizations across Central Ohio. Topics include Native Plants 101, matrix design for natural plant communities, invasive species management, biodiversity loss and practical solutions, and other mission-driven subjects that empower audiences to create meaningful habitat in their own landscapes.

FAQ

  • For a Comprehensive Landscape Analysis, Ohio Native Concepts will create a detailed written report following the site visit which includes recommended plant species, invasive species management suggestions, notes on our discussions, plant sources, instructions on native garden maintenance and establishment, site prep instructions, plus basic design info. 

    Clients can ask questions and get general advice during a Site Assessment, but do not get the written report and resources included in a comprehensive landscape analysis.

    Both services include a 15 minute Zoom call prior to the site visit.

  • Absolutely! Each pre-designed planting block package includes up to two Zoom meetings where we talk through the design with you and we’d be happy to help you choose the best option for your property.

  • Ohio Native Concepts offers specialty native landscape design services. We do NOT provide the following:

    - Traditional Spring/Fall clean-ups.

    - Arborist work (Tree trimming, tree removal, stump grinding).

    - Lawn care (Mowing, fertilizing, grass seeding).

  • Go to our Contact Us page and complete our short interest form and select the service(s) you are interested in.

    We’ll then send you an email confirmation with information to set up a Zoom meeting (free)

    Following the call, we’ll send you an invoice or payment schedule for any of the service(s) you select.

  • We do not utilize synthetic fertilizer and only use plants that have been grown without neonicotinoids and other toxic insecticides. Whenever practicable, we utilize manual methods of controlling invasive plants and follow restoration ecology best management practices when it comes to tackling the most aggressive species. This may necessitate the limited use of a select herbicide applied directly to cut stumps in order to prevent re-growth. During the site preparation phase of some projects, we utilize very targeted application of select herbicides to control exotic plants prior to installation of native plants.
